Yanping Guo announced as new Flow Cytometry Section Chair
The RMS Flow Cytometry Section welcomes Yanping Guo as its new Chair - taking on the role from previous Chair, Karen Hogg.
Yanping, who manages the Flow Cytometry Translational Technology Platform at UCL Cancer Institute, has been an active member of the committee for several years as Outreach Representative.
After receiving her DPhil degree from Oxford University, she did her postdoc research at UCL focusing on the hematopoietic stem cells and leukaemia. She enjoys helping users with training, experimental design and data analysis for flow cytometry in different disciplines. She also has a keen interest in the teaching and mentoring of younger scientists.
Yanping said: "It's a real honour to take on the role of Section Chair, and to help progress our many activities in support of flow cytometry. I'm really looking forward to working with all our members, and building on the work of my predecessor, Karen Hogg, who has done a fantastic job as Chair over the last few years."
The Flow Cytometry Section was formed in 1988. Its members are drawn from research, clinical and industrial aspects of flow cytometry. The committee acts as a point of contact for information and advice, and delivers a series of educational and scientific meetings and other activities.
